The design process and pricing jobs
A quote is an accurate price based on an appropriately detailed assessment of a job; it creates an agreement to complete the work for that amount. The time to get a quote is when a design is complete. Ideally this is when consents are granted.
An estimate is not as accurate as a quote and is more appropriate while the design process is ongoing.
An estimated ‘rough order’ of cost gives a general idea of the final cost and is appropriate early in the design process eg. at concept stage.
Free quote at consent stage

Our pricing is very competitive and we take care that our quotes have the level of consideration and detail appropriate for this type of work.
During the design process
During the design process the job is still hypothetical. This means time spent on it is a consultancy service for work that may never proceed.
